I'm in the market for a new camera, and I don't know where to begin. I've only ever used Canon point and shoots but I'm ready to take the plunge into something a bit more...ahem...substantial. I love taking pictures but I don't know much about photography, so I'd need something beginner friendly but with room for growth. Know what I'm saying? Please leave suggestions in the comments. Merci beaucoup!

if you are looking for a dslr, my first one was a canon xti. this is now out of date so i suggest the comparable canon t2i which also has video capability once you grow into it. i also swear by my 50mm f/1.8 lens. if you have any questions, feel free to shoot my a comment on my blog, i'd love to talk cameras with you :]
I recommend the canon rebel as a starting point. That was my first SLR and you can see a lot of the earlier photos on my blog. I've been working with a Canon 7D for almost a year now {in loooove} but I learned a lot working with the rebel for almost 3 years prior. I will say though that camera body is not where the awesome is at, it's the lens you're working with that's going to make the biggest impact.
Good Luck!
Thanks so much ladies - I am doing my research and these are great places to start!
